FREE EVENT
With support from the Mackintosh Foundation, the Guild and Red Table Theatre are pleased to present a public debut introduction of Open Book Management financing for fringe theatre and small-scale film projects.
Open Book Management is a transparent, collaborative process in which all of the participants of a company are free to look at all of the financial and business information of that company - and to help drive business success. Everyone can see where the money is spent - how much money goes on advertising, salaries, insurance, printing, props, set design, set build, illustrators, photographers - and how much money is taken. At every stage of rehearsals and production, everyone involved can see how far away they are from profitability. And then, when you cross breakeven, how much you’re going to get from the production.
Where many directors start their careers working in "Low Pay - No Pay" projects, Open Book is a very powerful way of building and keeping a committed and honest company ethic - and a strong ethical standpoint.
Rafe & Piers Beckley of Red Table Theatre will introduce Open Book, outline the way it works for them and how it can be applied to your projects, followed by a Q&A.
