syncVUE let both the editor and director view the film, make written notes, insert timecode locators and, most importantly, talk to each other at the same time over a broadband internet connection, no matter where in the world they are, with real-time remote viewing and noting. The timecode locators can be exported into Final Cut for the actual cutting. Each party needs syncVUE as an application on their computers, and the owner of the syncVUE licences the other participants. Each participant also needs an identical file of the media on their hard drive.

Established in 1981, Theatre Record has probably the most influential readership of any theatre publication in the UK.
