DIRECT ACCESS IS CURRENTLY RAISING FUNDS FOR ROUND 2
Direct Access is a groundbreaking director training scheme run
by the Directors Guild Trust and supported
by Skillset and Film4, placing emerging feature film directors onto major feature
productions to shadow a director. Currently the only one of its kind in the
country, Direct Access fosters new talent in the British film industry by giving
tomorrows’ great directors unparalleled insight into the creation of feature
films today.
Launched in 2007, four talented directors were chosen by a
jury panel of industry professionals. The candidates all showed outstanding
promise as directors of short films and commercials and each were developing
their own feature film scripts. Offered this opportunity to observe the highs and
the lows of filmmaking has prepared them to shoot their own features and
television projects in a way no other training can offer.
Created to address this training gap in the industry; the
Direct Access Scheme is unique in its thoroughness, taking these new directors from pre-production through
principal photography and post-production, exposing them not only to the work
of experienced directors but of writers,
performers, designers and cinematographers.
We are now actively seeking sponsors and donors to
contribute to the continuation of this vital industry Scheme. If you are
interested in supporting Direct Access, please contact us.
