Directors Guild & FuseLondon Workshop - CASTING & AUDITIONING ACTORS - 25th April 2010
Sunday 25th April 2010
10.30-12.30 am & 1.30-5.00 pm
Shaw Theatre, London NW1
The Directors Guild Trust and FuseLondon are delighted to announce a joint workshop designed to help directors and actors get the most from the audition process across theatre, film and TV. Three experienced casting directors will oversee auditions by participating directors in each genre, using professional actors. There are also some places for observers.

She also has experience casting TV, Film and Radio. (TO BE CONFIRMED)
THE DAY
The workshop day will be split into two halves. The morning session (10.30 – 12.30 am) is a discussion and Q & A just for the three casting directors, the participating directors and the observers to talk frankly about the audition process.
After lunch (1.30 – 4.30 pm) the actors groups will join us for ‘on your feet’ auditions with pre-prepared scripts. The afternoon is broken up into three sessions across three spaces in which practise castings are set up and work-shopped. Each audition space will have one casting director specialising in their field; in each session, 5 directors and 4 actors will work for 50mins on a script of that genre, with observers.
At the end of each session, the groups swap round, so by the end of the day all the directors will have worked with all 3 casting directors, tried auditions in each genre (theatre, film and TV), and will have worked with all of the actors in the workshop. (Actors will be sent the scripts in advance of the workshop.)
At the end of the day (4.30 – 5 pm) the groups come together for a final Q&A session.
BENEFITS OF THE WORKSHOP
