Peter Brook has been President of the Guild since 1997, an august successor to the late Fred Zinnemann. Peter's work in theatre and film is admired across the globe and his guiding hand has rested on British theatre since the 1950s, though he has been based in Paris for over 25 years. In 2001 the Guild honoured him with a Lifetime Achievement Award which he accepted at a packed reception at London's Theatre Museum in Covent Garden.
